1. The service
M3UTool is software for TV playlists: importing and organising channel lists, checking whether streams work, building TV guides and serving playlists to your own customers. It includes the editor, the web player, the Android and Windows apps and the self-hosted edition.
M3UTool provides tools only. It does not provide, host, sell or license any television content or streams.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18. You can use M3UTool for your business or as a private person.
- If you are a consumer, you keep every right your country's consumer law gives you. Nothing in these terms takes those rights away.
- Give a real email address and keep your login safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account, including anything done with your API keys.
- Our staff may open your account to help you with a support request. Each time is recorded.
3. Content and acceptable use
You may only manage and distribute content that you have the legal right to use and distribute. You are solely responsible for your playlists and for what you offer to your customers.
You may not use M3UTool to:
- distribute content that infringes anyone's rights;
- attack, overload or probe servers that you are not allowed to test;
- get around plan limits or the free trial, for example with several accounts;
- do anything else that is unlawful.
We suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
Report illegal or infringing use: email [email protected] with the subject "Abuse report". Tell us:
- what you are reporting: the address, playlist link or domain where you saw it;
- why it is illegal or infringes your rights, and, for a rights holder, which work or right it concerns;
- your name and how we can reach you;
- that you believe in good faith that the report is accurate.
We look at every report, act quickly on reports that are valid, for example by switching off the links or the account concerned, tell the account owner where the law allows it, and let you know what we did.
4. Trial, plans and fair use
Every new account gets a 14-day free trial with every feature, without a card. The trial starts with your Discord account, and each Discord account gets one trial. During the trial you can check up to 5,000 streams a day, and self-hosted M3UTool is not included. When the trial ends, your plan has ended: you can still sign in and choose a plan, and your customers' feeds stop until you do. Your work is kept.
Using M3UTool after the trial needs an active plan. Every plan has the full editor; plans differ in size (customers, playlists, channels per playlist and daily stream checks), as shown on the pricing page. Self-hosted M3UTool comes with plans from €40 a year.
Fair use: the limits keep the shared platform fast for everyone. Accounts that systematically get around them may be adjusted or closed.
5. Billing and the end of a plan
- Plans are paid through PayPal for one month or one year at a time, by card (no PayPal account needed) or with a PayPal account. PayPal sends the receipt.
- Nothing renews automatically. We remind you 7 days before your paid period ends. You can pay the next period up to 30 days ahead; it starts when the current one ends.
- A bigger plan during a paid period costs the difference for the days that are left, and the end date stays the same. A smaller plan starts with the next period.
- If the next period is not paid by the end date, you have 14 days to pay. A payment in those 14 days continues from the old end date. After that your plan ends until you pay again. The free trial has no such grace period.
- You get a full refund if you ask within 14 days of your first payment. This also covers the 14-day right of withdrawal consumers have in the EU and UK. Later payments are not refunded.
- A refund, a chargeback or a payment dispute ends your plan immediately.
- While you have no active plan, your customers' feeds, players and apps stop working. You can still sign in, choose a plan and open support tickets. Your data is kept and everything comes back when you pay for a plan again.
See the refund policy for cancelling and refunds.
6. Your customers and their data
You are responsible for your service to your customers: your prices, your support, and what you tell them, including a privacy notice that covers the data M3UTool processes for you.
For your customers' personal data, M3UTool acts as your processor. These points are our data processing agreement with you:
- What and how long: we store and use your customers' data only to provide M3UTool to you, following what you set up in the editor, for as long as your account exists.
- Which data, about whom: your customers (the people who watch through your service): their labels, usernames and feed passwords, expiry dates and device limits, live sessions with IP address and device, their watch history (7 days), synced app data, activation codes, crash reports and their messages to you. When they play a channel in a player app, their app connects to your provider directly. The privacy policy lists it in full.
- Confidentiality: everyone at M3UTool who can access it is bound to confidentiality.
- Security: all connections use HTTPS, account passwords and parental PINs are stored only as hashes, API keys as a hash and, for newer keys, encrypted, our admin area needs a hardware security key, staff access to your account is logged, our second server (a live standby copy of the database) is reached only through a private, encrypted connection, and backups are encrypted.
- Other services: we use only the services listed in the privacy policy. We tell you at least 30 days before we add a new one. If you object, you can cancel before then and we refund the unused part of a period you paid in advance.
- Help and breaches: we help you answer your customers' requests about their data and with any assessment you have to make, and tell you without undue delay if we learn of a breach that affects it.
- Proof: we give you the information you need to show that this agreement is kept, and answer audit questions in writing.
- At the end: you can export your customers and playlists at any time (backups, customer list as CSV). When your account is closed, we delete the data as described in the privacy policy.
Your data stays yours. Your playlists and your customers' data belong to you. We use them only to run M3UTool for you.
7. Branded players and apps
While your plan is active, you may give the M3UTool web player and apps to your customers under your own name, logo and colour. You may not sell, change or reverse-engineer the apps themselves. When your plan ends or is suspended, they stop working for your customers.
8. M3UTool Player
M3UTool Player is our app for people who watch their own TV subscription. It contains no channels: you add the Xtream login or M3U link you get from your own provider, and you are responsible for having the right to watch what it carries.
- Free trial: 7 days, without a card. The trial starts when you add your first device to your account.
- Yearly: one year, paid once through PayPal; nothing renews by itself. You can pay the next year before the current one ends, and it starts when the current year ends.
- Lifetime: one payment. You can use M3UTool Player with its updates for as long as we offer it. If we ever stop offering it, we tell you by email in advance.
- Devices: one account covers up to three devices at the same time.
- Refunds: a full refund if you ask within 14 days of your payment, as described in the refund policy.
- If you watch through a service that runs on M3UTool, the app is free and these payment rules do not apply to you.
9. Self-hosted M3UTool
The self-hosted edition needs an active paid plan of €40 a year or more and its gateway key, and checks its licence with us once a day. If the plan ends or moves below €40 a year, the self-hosted editor stops 7 days after the last good check; your customers keep watching. You are responsible for the server it runs on, its security and backups, and the customer data stored there.
10. Availability and liability
The service is provided without a guaranteed availability level. To the extent permitted by law, liability is limited to intent and gross negligence; for slight negligence only in case of breach of essential contractual duties, and limited to the foreseeable, typical damage.
These limits do not apply to injury to life, body or health, to fraud, or wherever the law does not allow liability to be limited, for example under product liability law.
11. Changes
We improve M3UTool continuously and may change these terms or our prices. We tell you by email or in the editor at least 30 days before a change applies to you. A price change never affects a period you already paid for.
If you don't agree, you can stop using M3UTool and close your account before the change applies. If you keep using M3UTool after that date, the new terms apply.
12. Ending your account
Nothing renews by itself, so there is nothing to cancel: a plan ends at the end of the period you paid for unless you pay the next one. To delete your account, email [email protected]. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
13. Final points
If one part of these terms is not valid, the rest still applies. These terms are written in English; if we offer a translation, the English text is the one that counts.
Questions about these terms: [email protected].
